The winter months are almost upon us and it is officially time to invest in a new coat!! Some of you may already know this from my previous posts last year but I’m a big fan of the coats by Godwin Charli. I love their cuts, the fact that they come in a size 5 (!) and their great choice in fabrics and classic colours. This winter, you will find me in this beautiful long, wrap coat in the perfect dark grey colour. I love the look of this coat – the cut is very chic (perfect for work – I work in a corporate envirnoment – or weekend wear with casual jeans). It’s made out of wool and is very warm (but light) and feels very luxurious on. It also comes in an amazing camel colour (it was so hard to pick one over the other!) – pics here. I will probably get shot by all of Melbourne for saying this, but I’m really looking forward to winter and for the colder months to set in! I can’t wait to layer, wrap and rug up this winter – and now with my new coat, I am ready for it to arrive! x
Feels like summer has finally arrived in Melbourne and what better piece of clothing to enjoy this beautiful weather in than a playsuit! I am such a big fan of playsuits and particularly love ones by Alice McCall and Zimmermann who always seems to make playsuits in the cutest cuts and prints each summer! I especially love this one by Alice McCall – the Better Be Good To Me playsuit which comes in black and white. I chose white on this occasion as I think you can see all the lace detailing much better and I also bought a number of black playsuits (also by Alice McCall) last summer so thought I would mix it up! I’m also super excited as most brands will be bringing out their summer drops in the next few weeks where there are plenty more playsuits to come! I would hate to jinx it but I’m going to call it – looks like summer is finally here and I cannot WAIT to play! S x
It’s officially the last day of winter and needless to say, I am SOOO excited! For all the fun spring/summer activities and especially for the carefree, colourful and fun outfits that are no doubt going to be all over my Insta in a month’s time! A few weeks ago I went to Bali for a mini escape. I stayed in Seminyak for a few days and Uluwatu for a few days (a proper Bali post to come soon!) but I loved dusting off my summer wardrobe and living in it again for an entire week. One new addition to my summer wardrobe this year is bell sleeve tops in light fabrics. Despite the strong 70s influence, I love how they dress up even the most casual bottoms – even ripped denim shorts! These photos were taken at the beautiful Alila Uluwatu hotel (again, more pics to come but officially one of my favourite hotels on the planet!) What are you planning to wear bell sleeves with Spring / Summer? S x
It’s hard to avoid dressing in #allblackerrthang in the cooler months..I don’t know about you, but for me, it sometimes feels like a daily struggle! So in an attempt to combat this urge, I have been trying to add quite a few grey pieces to my wardrobe and more recently, even some maroon! I’m absolutely loving chunkier knits, scarves and even beanies in a deeper, maroon and loving paring it back with different shades of grey. It’s almost like a black – but not! I also really think it compliments darker skin. I love this particular knit from Glassons which is very affordable and the perfect shade of maroon – not too hard but not too bright either. I’ve worn it here with a pleated grey skirt and some Senso heeled boots for a casual weekend look. What’s your favourite colour this winter? x
It can often be hard to gauge people’s size online. For those who may not know, I am actually a very petite person and I often find it hard to find clothes that fit me perfectly from the minute I put them on. This is particularly true of chunkier items such as winter jackets, where I often find it very difficult to find a coat that I love that also fits me like a glove. So when I tried on this beautiful Godwin Charli coat a few weeks ago, needless to say, it was love at first try! Not only did I not have to alter a single thing, I particularly love this coat for its detailing – the metal clasps add character to an otherwise plain black coat yet still look very chic, the trimming on the sleeves adds additional texture and I also love the ever-so-slight A-line cut. So come at me freezing cold Melbourne, I’m officially coat-ready!
There are two things that I don’t normally do: I don’t wear all white and I certainly don’t wear white flared pants. However, when I had to put together an all white outfit to attend Diner en Blanc in Melbourne earlier this year, instead of opting for a pretty girly white dress as I normally would, I thought I would try something a little different – and I’m glad I did! With the wider pants trend now in full swing, I found an outfit that I loved all from Saba. Not only are these the most comfortable pair of pants I own, they are also extremely flattering on – if you are yet to try on a pair this season, I say go for it! I wore these pants with a very simple cami and a sleek, sleeveless trench. I was very happy with the end outfit – what do you think of it? x
I am such a big fan of trenches – particularly in Autumn in Melbourne when the weather is just perfect for them. I have built up a collection of 4 so far (mostly black I must admit!) but all with varying degrees of warmth. I am particularly loving this one at the moment from Glassons which is a bit lighter than my others but perfect to throw over any outfit. I also love the open front so that you can still see what someone is wearing underneath. I’m wearing it here with a clean cut pair of pleated culottes (can’t get enough of them at the moment!) and a light sweater in the perfect pastel blue. How do you like to wear your trench? S x
Though it’s only Autumn, it feels like the temperature has definitely dropped a few degrees into ‘winter territory’ this week and funnily, I have been absolutely loving it! I’m really enjoying the cold and having an excuse to start wearing and (expanding) my winter wardrobe and in particular, I’m loving layering!! I was recently invited by Staple the Label (in collaboration with The Minimalist (one of my fave local interior stores by the way – check them out!), Naked Vice and QT Gold Coast) to style my favourite item from their latest collection into a chic, transitional outfit. I chose this quilted tank in grey – in my view, the perfect wardrobe addition for anyone who loves to layer! I’ve styled it back here with a big skirt (so the look remains very feminine), some leather leggings and a bright orange twilly to bring a pop of colour to the outfit! S x
